MOLE RESECTION

Sun exposure is becoming more and more harmful to our skin, which is why we should pay more attention to injuries and changes suffered by it, with changes we see in the appearance of moles, and moles we are born with anywhere on our bodies.

The best way is to remove moles is in the least aggressive way possible to our face, trying to leave the least amount of scarring, and doing so in a proper way, in case it’s malignant.

The way in which expression lines run on our faces, and their direction, as well as secondary expression lines that we must evaluate to remove a mole, are fundamental data in planning the surgery and trying to leave minimal scarring, planned and functional with the expression of the rest of our face.

Procedure
It’s done in a minor OR with local anesthesia and, in some cases, in the consulting office.

Without exception, all moles are sent to a pathology medic to confirm if they are malignant or benignant. The result will be sent in writing a few days later.
Duration
Between 5 to 15 minutes per wound.

Anesthesia
Local anesthesia.

Need for hospitalization
Not required.

Recovery
Stitches are removed in 5 to 7 days. Use of gel to improve scarring for at least 3 months. Use of sunscreen for a year.
