BLEPHAROPLASTY

Blepharoplasty is a facial rejuvenation surgery with very satisfactory results which give our gaze a fresher and more youthful appearance.

With the passing of time, the general appearance of the eyelids becomes different. In the upper eyelid, due to excess skin and sagging of the eyebrows, the spontaneous and youthful opening in the gaze deteriorates and changes, increasing the appearance of our age into something constant and falling back into our expression.

Procedure
The techniques used for the extraction of excess balls of fat are inside the lid, or, in some patients, it’s done in the top part of the skin, that is then adjusted. This is why surgery must be designed for each individual patient, depending on the needs of each case.
Duration
Approximately 1 ½ hours.

Anesthesia
Only sedation and local anesthesia.

Need for hospitalization
Not required; the patient remains a couple of hours in clinical observations, and then goes home.
Risks
Potential risks are: infection, bleeding in the incision or under the skin flap, pulmonary embolism (due to blood clots that reach the lungs), pathological scarring (keloid), delay in healing and even widening of the scar. A potential risk is also the need for a secondary revision surgery.

Recovery
Stitches are removed on the fifth day and are generally under the skin, barely noticeable. Inflammation and bruising can occur, and generally gets better in 3 to 5 days. It’s recommended that patients wear sunglasses from the moment they go home.
