Rhinoplasty

In a nose surgery we aim to obtain straighter and finer angles in the nasal structure, in the bridge as well as the tip, giving a more harmonious look to the rest of the face.

In women, the face generally becomes softer and takes on a new look, increasing the potential beauty of the rest of the face.

In men, we look for straighter angles, which give a manly refinement of the face, without exceeding projection on the tip of the nose; this, in order to obtain favorable changes that preserve a manly appearance.

Procedure
Prior to surgery, we evaluate the condition of the nasal septum and other internal structures, to repair them if possible and improve the quality of breathing, depending on the case.
Duration
Primary rhinoplasty: 2 to 2 ½ hours.
Secondary rhinoplasty: depending on the case.

Anesthesia
Sedation and local anesthesia, in most cases.

Need for hospitalization
Not required; the patient remains in clinical observation for an hour, and then goes home.

Secondary rhinoplasty can require 1 day in hospitalization in some cases.
Recovery
Nasal patch with a ferule for 5 to 7 days. The patch is then exchanged for tape, for 7 more days. Plugs are left in only a few patients, for 3 to 5 days, in cases when the septum is realigned, among others. The patient can go back to normal working activities in 4 to 5 days, generally with a patch.
